Why is it that some foods remain taboo in the United States, a country with a particularly multicultural population, wide-ranging availability of foods, and relatively short cultural history? Should that taboo be reexamined for the 21 century American table? in an APA-style argumentative research paper of about 1,750 words (plus a 100- abstract), argue for the possible origins of one of the following food taboos, linking it at some point in the paper to Meyer-Rochow’s Framework for the understanding the origins taboos across cultures generally.

1. Abstract page. 2. Introduction section: that describes the taboo and presents your thesis about the reasoning behind it. 3. Literature Review Section: presenting the background, context or existing research on the taboo. (This section should be 30-40%of your word count.) 4. An argument section: explaining your own argument on the current knowledge regarding the taboo (why it developed in America), its probable place within Meyer-Rochow’s framework, and your perspective on whether the taboo should be preserved or reevaluated. (This sections should also make up 30-40% of your word count.) 5. a conclusion reiterating your reasoning and highlighting any greater meaning. 6. An APA-style reference page with at least 7 sources- 6 of yours plus Meyer-Rochow. These sources should be google scholars or uniformly appropriate for college writing.
