Balancing Economic Development

Each week there will be discussion topics posted in the Discussions area of the course. At a minimum, students are to contribute their own original input on a discussion topic, and reply to at least one classmate’s input. For weeks 3 and 7, students submit short, analytical papers in the Assignments area as well as in the Discussion area (each paper/discussion is worth 10 points) What the instructor looks for in student participation in the discussions: The student demonstrates sharp insight and a solid grasp of the subject matter. The student initiates thoughtful questions. The student sees various sides of an issue and is courteous to those with opposing views. The student articulates well and writes logically and clearly. The student integrates ideas previously learned from this and other disciplines.
