History discussion- the Cold War

This week we are addressing the Cold War, and our documents center around Congressional inquiries (you might say inquisitions) indicative of the Cold War era: ‘Investigating the Communist Threat’ and ‘National Concerns about the Corruption of Youth’. Compose responses of at least 4 sentences each in response to the two following questions: What are the similarities and/or differences in the focus, tone, and tactics of these congressional inquiries that stood out to you? What concerns or ‘anxieties’ do you think these documents reveal about America (and its Government) in the Cold War era? As usual, an additional follow up comment is required for full credit, and I will have an open-ended question for you all if you wish to address that instead.
