The new National Standards for Health Education.

Contact your high school health teacher. Ask if he/she is aware of the new National Standards for Health Education and to what extent the curriculum in the school district has been based on these standards. Ask if the school district has a coordinated school health program. If so, how does the program function? Who coordinates the program? What programs/initiatives are a result of the program? If no program exists, ask why? Try to determine the barriers to initiating a coordinated school health program in the district.
